Volunteer Opportunities

 

  • Provide a safe, temporary home for animals in need while they receive medical care, recover, or wait for permanent placement. Fosters play one of the most critical roles in rescue by giving animals stability, socialization, and love.

  • Drive animals to veterinary appointments, foster homes, or partner shelters. Reliable transport volunteers ensure animals receive timely medical care and safe placement.

    Assist with collecting and delivering supplies such as food, litter, cleaning supplies, and other essentials.

  • Assist with humane trapping efforts and help coordinate care for community cats through Trap–Neuter–Return (TNR) programs. Training and guidance are provided to ensure safe and ethical practices.

  • Support fundraising events, outreach efforts, and community engagement opportunities. Event volunteers help spread awareness and strengthen community support for rescue work.

  • Support Pet Project by offering your expertise in areas such as veterinary care, legal services, accounting, marketing, photography, grooming, grant writing, and other specialized skills.

Our needs vary depending on current cases, medical emergencies, and foster capacity. While opportunities may not always be immediate, we keep all submissions on file and will reach out as needs arise.

Pet Project relies on dedicated foster homes to provide temporary care for animals who are too young for adoption, recovering from illness or injury, adjusting to life indoors, or simply waiting for their forever family. By opening your home, you give an animal a safe place to heal, grow, and thrive.

Pet Project provides veterinary care, guidance, and support throughout the foster process. Whether you can foster for a few weeks or several months, your help makes a difference.

Other Ways To Help

Not everyone is able to foster, transport or volunteer regularly - and that’s okay! There are many meaningful ways to support Pet Project and the animals we serve. Small actions from compassionate people in out community help create lasting change.

  • Help us reach more people by sharing our work with your friends, family, and community. Every share helps raise awareness and connect animals with the help they need.

  • We gratefully accept donated supplies such as dog & cat food, litter, traps, carriers, toys and cleaning supplies. These items go directly toward caring for animals in our program.

  • Every animal in our care is seen by a veterinarian and spayed or neutered. Your support helps cover essential care like exams, vaccinations, and procedures that prevent more animals from entering a world where so many are already in need of homes.

  • Bring your community together to help animals in need. Schools, workplaces, and community groups can host supply drives or fundraisers to support our mission.

  • Know of a grant opportunity, community partner, or resource that could help animals in our area? We welcome connections that strengthen our ability to help.

  • Help reduce the number of animals entering shelters by encouraging responsible pet ownership and supporting spay and neuter efforts in your community.

  • Veterinary professionals, photographers, graphic designers, marketers, and other professionals can make a huge impact by donating their expertise.
